MARIELA GARIBAY

MARIELA GARIBAY BIOGRAPHY BIOGRAPHY PHOTOS PERUVIAN SCULPTOR

Mariela, born in Lima, studied plastic arts at the Catholic University of Perú and graduated in sculpture. She moved to Ayacucho, a city in the heart of the Andes, attracted by the fine alabaster of the area, ancestrally used for handicrafts and sculpture. There she encounters the purest and most magical folk art of the Peruvian highlands.

In 2005 she traveled to Europe, where she continued her studies at the Faculty of Art at the University of Barcelona.  She currently lives and works in this city.

Her work can be found in art galleries in Paris, La Boule, Honfleur, Saint-Tropez, Geneva, Zurich, Knokke, Mauritius, Positano and Venice, among others.
